Spent 3 hours making a terrain and figuring it out how the hell to export to Unity only to find out that ....:You can't import custom textures which HONESTLY should be a given considering this is labeled as "software" for game developers. Do game developers not use original assets or what? Yeah yeah I know, I read you could always just go and create a Unity3d package on Unity and then "import" (more like use the explorer/finder to copy your files to the corresponding directory...) that into GeoVox. Hell, I spent like 2 hours googling how the ♥♥♥♥ to pack a Unity3d package since EVERYTIME I try to create and export a package it'll be set to "unityPackage" as opposed to "Unity3d".How did i come to realize the absence of such a basic feature? Well... Cause I was trying to change the specular and normal maps of one of my voxel types and ended up realizing that EVERYTIME that I import a scene into Unity the materials loose the specular channel resulting in some horrible looks for the whole terrain.I'm glad I got this discounted cause as of today, this is really still something I can't find myself using because of its severe professional features.. Honestly I only got it with the bundle. It looked pretty cool being able to form the environment and what not but it is not user friendly. The viewing controls along with the speed of looking/ moving around is too difficult. Maybe theres some setting to fix it but I dont know. Im more stuck on the other software to put any time into this one.. Definitely not worth thee $40.00 . Got it on sale and still regret buying it . The export " Feature " is broken and is of no use . I do not recommend this " Product " .. I'm a one man team game design hobbyist. I am always on the lookout for a new tool that will help feed my addiction and when I saw GeoVox, I was extremely intrigued. What do I like about it?The world builder gives you an amazing view of what you are designing. The rendereing engine built in is amazing. The settings when creating a new world can produce an almost infinite number of distinct worlds as a starting point with minimal effort. The voxel engine is fantastic. It allows for creating some truly beautiful scenery quickly really cutting down level design time. The program allows you to change textures so you can quickly see what the world would look like with different styles. What don't I like about it?Even with a pretty powerful sustem, the program can get bogged down. I have a Core i7 7820HK with a GTX 1070 and 16Gbs of ram and even when I'm not running at max settings, the program will stutter a little. For someone with a less powerful system this will slow you down. The controls are not the most intuitive setup. This just requires time playing with the program to get accustomed to but I think it is worth mentioning.Another thing to mention, If you use AGFPro, GeoVox works great with it. Personally, I prefer using GeoVox over AGFPro's Voxel Sculpt addon (which is basically like having GeoVox built into AGFPro). It just runs a little more smoothly.. How Do i connect my Controller to this? i use 360 Xbox. UPDATED REVIEW AS PER JUNE 2018I still think GoeVOX is a pretty neat tool to generate terrain, however...The developer hasn't updated GeoVOX for over a year bow and there are some issues that are not addressed at all. I've also heard from one of the programmers that the developer has hired that he hasn't been paid since the start of this year, which shows that GeoVOX has been abandoned. That doesn't mean that I think GeoVOX should be reviewed as NEGATIVE as I've changed it to. All I've written below is still true and I am still using GeoVOX as my main terrain development tool for my current project (even with the flaws that are still there). I've just changed the review to NEGATIVE to warn you as potential buyer that you WILL NOT get any support for any problems you have.--- Original review November 6, 2016 belowI think GEOVOX is okay, but only IF you're using the Unity3D engine as your development envorinment. Reason for this is that GEOVOX uses only 2 kinds of exports:1. it's own file which can be imported into Unity3D with it's own plugin. It works fine, but is darn slow.2. .OBJ files along with .PNG terrain maps for other engines, but with the size of the directory created I figure it'll be a pain to import in Unreal/CryEngine.There is a problem with mouse speed though. The click for adding new voxels is very sensitive and before you know you add more changes than you initially wanted :D The only REAL bad thing I found is that the mouse axis are reversed by default and after you've chanced them, you can not save the setting. Problem solved, it's now saving my mouse axis settings.Customer support of AGF in general is very good. They are active on the forums here and reply very quickly to questions you have. One thing to keep in mind though. The recommended RAM is 2Gb, but that's to run GEOVOX itself. Depending on the size of the terrain/map you've made you DO NEED 8Gb or even 16Gb to import it into Unity3D...Now I'll be back to GEOVOX to make some nice landscapes to use in my (hopefully) future RPG.. Very nice, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up to find the terrain already there ready to go.It's a lot better than the ones I've used before over the years you can get up and running very quickly with a high quality terrain.Once the updates which import into Unity 5 and Axis come out this will be the best ever.I recommend it for now and await the promised updates."Just as I thought, the devs have listened and already released the Unity 5 import of the terrain"Way to go guys ... nice
